Lights are up at my place!




Putting lights up on houses at Christmas time isn't a huge thing here in NZ, some people get into it some dont. These however I bought last year and we put them up a few weeks ago. We think they look very festive when they are on at night.

Your lights look rather pretty. At least you have some up, I don't, even though many of the neighbours do. A friend recently asked if I was putting up light and before I could say anything, another friend chimed in with 'She's a Kiwi, maybe they don't do that over there!' LOL Merry Christmas...

hey Karen, it's strange not many kiwis get into it. If you get a chance go down franklin road in Auckland, they totally get into it, worth checking out. Merry xmas to you too :-)

  Photo taken Spring 2024 in Auckland We have been invited to a family reunion in June 2026 which will be held in Auckland so I'm looking forward to catching up with relatives that I haven't seen in over 10 years.  This week we have: Had a good chat with a friend who has also adopted a rescue dog - must arrange a play date. I've bought some non alcoholic liqueurs to mix up for mocktails which have been very nice as I don't really drink. We had a massive wind storm 2 days ago, we were ok but a good friend who lives 20 minutes away had a bolt of lightning strike her house, the result was a blown up power box inside and part of her kitchen got burned, she had to call out the fire brigade to put it out. Hail

  Spring is throwing out some strange weather right now. We don't get snow where we live but it is visible on some of the mountains around us over Winter. Last week around 4.30am we had a very loud thunderstorm with hail. It wasn't until an hour or so later my daughter said this is what she saw out on our deck.  Clumps of hail all over the deck and on her hand. Apparently various other suburbs around town got it too.
