It's volleyball season!


December/January is premium holidaymaker season here. There's been plenty of people in our town enjoying the beach and Summer sun. I had to work right up until Christmas eve, normally I don't work Sundays but I was rostered on for half the day - thankfully I was able to head home just after lunch which was nice. I won't get any time off as I will have been there for a full year in February so we will most likely go away for a week then.

Hope you've had a restful few days over Christmas.

Hot time, summer in the city, not here though. 2C and windy. Love the photo, a least people can be out and enjoying themselves with the nice warm weather.

  Photo taken Spring 2024 in Auckland We have been invited to a family reunion in June 2026 which will be held in Auckland so I'm looking forward to catching up with relatives that I haven't seen in over 10 years.  This week we have: Had a good chat with a friend who has also adopted a rescue dog - must arrange a play date. I've bought some non alcoholic liqueurs to mix up for mocktails which have been very nice as I don't really drink. We had a massive wind storm 2 days ago, we were ok but a good friend who lives 20 minutes away had a bolt of lightning strike her house, the result was a blown up power box inside and part of her kitchen got burned, she had to call out the fire brigade to put it out. Hail

  Spring is throwing out some strange weather right now. We don't get snow where we live but it is visible on some of the mountains around us over Winter. Last week around 4.30am we had a very loud thunderstorm with hail. It wasn't until an hour or so later my daughter said this is what she saw out on our deck.  Clumps of hail all over the deck and on her hand. Apparently various other suburbs around town got it too.
