Charlie's Rock Waterfall


A couple of weeks ago on our quest to find local waterfalls around our area the other half found this one online - it's called "Charlie's Rock Waterfall".


So it takes about 15-20 minutes in total through a short pathway and bushwalk which included climbing over some muddy tracks and slippery rocks.


But totally worth the view considering this is what we found at the end. A very warm Spring day with some tourists jumping off the rocks into the cold water.


Up until recently the waterfall was accessed through private property but I believe the local council through some hard work organized public access.

Beautiful waterfall and it would certainly be worth the walk if it was warm enough! but early spring! I'm not sure!!!

I've never seen anything like this in person. All the waterfalls I see are tall and cascading from a mountain or a cliff.

  Photo taken Spring 2024 in Auckland We have been invited to a family reunion in June 2026 which will be held in Auckland so I'm looking forward to catching up with relatives that I haven't seen in over 10 years.  This week we have: Had a good chat with a friend who has also adopted a rescue dog - must arrange a play date. I've bought some non alcoholic liqueurs to mix up for mocktails which have been very nice as I don't really drink. We had a massive wind storm 2 days ago, we were ok but a good friend who lives 20 minutes away had a bolt of lightning strike her house, the result was a blown up power box inside and part of her kitchen got burned, she had to call out the fire brigade to put it out. Hail

  Spring is throwing out some strange weather right now. We don't get snow where we live but it is visible on some of the mountains around us over Winter. Last week around 4.30am we had a very loud thunderstorm with hail. It wasn't until an hour or so later my daughter said this is what she saw out on our deck.  Clumps of hail all over the deck and on her hand. Apparently various other suburbs around town got it too.
