A taste of Summer

On Monday over the week of strangely warm Spring weather we've had, my sister and I drove out to a local surf beach about 10 minutes out of town. Te Arai is a long long beach and popular with surfers and swimmers alike. There are 3 entrances, first is through a forestry area, 2nd is at the end of a long gravel road and the 3rd is through another forestry road. This photo was taken after we arrived at the third spot, someone had put up a makeshift hut made of branches and Norfolk Pine leaves.

It was however near enough to a scorching hot day, I was regretting wearing a light jumper and black tights, think next time we go there on a warm day we'll be wearing lightweight Summer gear.

Linking up with Skywatch Friday.

I thought you would have gone in shorts and top rather than a coat, it looks a beautiful day

What a photo. Hard to believe it's not mid summer, tho there would be more people I guess. Beautiful sandy beach and blue sea!

Sorry I should've been more specific, I wasn't wearing a coat, I was wearing a light jumper/sweater that's suitable for Spring/Autumn. You never know how changeable the weather is going to be here, it's like 4 seasons in 1 day

We've had a couple of unseasonably warm days here too Amy, they kind of take you unawares.. also make me realise how much I appreciate the cooler spring weather 😊

Must get to that beach next time we are down there. The Browns first settled in Te Arai before moving to the Tara.

Love the shack, it is so “beachy”. The transitional weather can complicate what to wear. My wife and I are headed to the mountains in a couple weeks and I am not sure how to dress.

Hello, it is a pretty beach! Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy weekend!
Very cool little surfing hut! That likes like a beautiful beach with a nice break. I can see why it is popular with surfers.
