Christmas Carnival

I don't know if you can call this a Christmas Carnival but I stopped in at the local one happening in the town square over the weekend on the way home from work. This band was set up and people seemed to be enjoying themselves. Some were even line dancing. Not sure why they were wearing puffer jackets as it is humid here.

There were the usual food trucks and stalls there, all of them I've seen before.

Photo not mine - taken from Greymouth District Council before the event started.

By the time I got there it was all on the tail end of the event just after 8pm so probably not as many people as earlier in the afternoon.

Linking up with Tuesday TreasuresHappy Tuesdays and Wordless Wednesday.

Puffer jackets in summer, probably tourists. Like tourists in short sleeves in winter here. They sort of stick out
Those thick coats are definitely noticeable. They're probably cold-blooded people. Winter has started here, though. But with maximum temperatures of around 12°C, winter coats aren't necessary here right now.

I thought it was too warm there for such jackets. What would they wear in our weather?
It looks like it was probably fun earlier on and was winding down when you got there. Was there a bit of a breeze coming down the valley? could explain the jackets.

Well, yes, wonder what they wear when it´s really cold! Hmmm, food-festival!

No, not really, it was a humid night, I just finished work and I was wearing a plain cotton work shirt.

The puffer jacket reminds me of my father in his old age. It was very hot outside and he was wearing a sweater. He was cold. It's old age and the thinning of everything.

What a fun thing to do. I would have hit the food trucks for sure. A delightful thing to do.

Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. ♥

...it's a bit too cold for a carnival here

Looks like a fun little carnival even if it was winding down. The puffer jackets made me laugh. Honestly, with my low cold tolerance, I’d probably be one of them!

That's how photos can really mislead you. Winter or summer. People or not ?

Looks like an event the locals would enjoy.
