Open

On a lovely late Summer morning for the first time since we've lived here I finally popped into this local cafe in one of the vintage 1930's buildings next to the Grey River on the way to work to try their coffee. So so, nothing major, probably wouldn't go back there. But I'm thankful that we have so many cafes in town to choose from, there are at least 5 that I know of.

New Zealand's general elections are due to happen in October. A large majority of people can't wait to get the current government out as they are backtracking on many of their promises (as they do) and seem to think voters have short memories. Makes me wonder why people elect certain parties when they keep repeating the same behaviour.

Linking up with Skywatch Friday, Thankful Thursday and Tom's Signs.

I like the green color of the café.
With elections, campaign promises, and politicians' actions, it doesn't seem much different here than here.

Lucky you've got a choice! I always go for the best coffee too

It's election year here too (in September), so a lot of "politics in the air"... We're likely to end up in much the same position as four years ago, i.e. with difficulties to find an "obvious" majority to form a coalition government.

I love my morning mug of coffee. Don´t care politics too much. It seems there´s always the same people. Most voters are bit lame imho.

I like the look of your cafe. Glad you have choices in cafes, not many places to eat around here. It's very political here in the U.S. Trump is terrible and many of us didn't vote for him. I understand your feelings about politics. Thank you for linking up.

A quiet summer coffee by the Grey River reminds me that cafés may disappoint, but voters probably shouldn’t keep ordering the same political brew and expecting a different taste

That looks like a pretty place to watch people (if there are any?). Yupp, Yogi is right... But then... I could not do a better job.

It's the sort of colour that would attract me - shame about the coffee. What of ambience?
