Wood carving

During our recent mini road trip to Fox River (btw we don't have foxes in new Zealand) recently, B and I thought we would check out the local markets that usually happen on Sunday mornings. Many people here enjoy carving whether it's with wood or bone or jade (Pounamu). This man had a stall of wood carvings.

Linking up with Tuesday TreasuresHappy Tuesdays and Wordless Wednesday.

I'd definitely stop to have a look. Back in my early school days, girls had needlework on the timetable, while boys had woodwork. For one term in grade 6 in primary school we got to switch, as in grade 7-9 a gender neutral choice was going to be offered for the first time. As I was never any good at needlework, I chose woodwork for those three last years. Can't say I got very good at that either, but I enjoyed it more!

Makes me think of our market days here. Only it will be a while longer before the weather allows them to resume.
