Along the Hokitika pathway to the beach there are these sculptures sitting on amongst the artwork named "Westland Women" which commemorate all the women at the heart of the local communities. The artist is Richard Brett and these were made in 2009. They also look like they double as seats.

Seats that kind of embrace but I could think of more flattering ways to commemorate the community contribution of women - and ways that make them look less used or useable.... to convey strength and commitment as well as devotion.
Interesting chairs
A very different pathway to the sea.
...Amy, a wonderful find!
Beautiful. Well done.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. ♥
I do recognize women in them, of course, but as chairs, I don't find them very inviting.
That is really cool!
I don't like the idea of a representation of a women being used as a chair.
They look great!
Women supporting people as they relax. Nice idea.
