Yesterday on my day off I visited the new library in town. Ok apart from how much the whole thing cost I have to say I'm very impressed. Greymouth is an old town and as much as I like history and historical buildings, I also believe that sometimes we need modernization as well.

The cafe seating area which overlooks the other side of the river and was saturated in sunshine.
The childrens play area - quiet as children are at school during the day.

I also love old buildings. But every era should leave its own architectural traces. This new library seems to me a good example of that.
