Yuletide

All of these Christmas decorations have been seen in local Greymouth stores over the last 2 weeks.

I think this year for the first time in a long time I'm feeling more festive. The last 7 years on and off I have worked in various supermarkets and let me tell you, people go absolutely nuts just because shops are closed for 1 day. I've seen people getting into punch ups over who would go through a checkout first and I've seen people get nasty and rude with no Christmas spirit at all. This year I'm working in a nice place with great colleagues and nice customers - no angst at all so I'm really feeling a lot happier.

Dealing with angry people can wear thin quickly. I'm glad you service a calmer crowd this year.

Nothing like working retail at Christmas to really wipe out the festive spirit!! Is that in Maori? What language is that? Thanks for sharing with #Xmaslinky

I had a very busy hour and a half in the shop a couple of days ago and was glad when it was over. Everyone was nice though so no problem there, thank goodness. I'd hate to work in a supermarket at any time, retail is not my natural habitat 😉

I'm very happy to avoid the Christmas rush in the city. I prefer the peace and quiet of the countryside.

I don't understand how people can be so rude getting ready for this special holiday. Merry Christmas!

Wee. Sundays - every Sunday - shops are closed here. Sometimes there are special weekends when the shops are open on Sundays. We never go.
Gas stations, that have limited food and drink as well, are open. Some bakeries open for a few hours on Sunday mornings. Restaurants are open - closed on Mondays hence.
Nice you found a happier place.
