Both sides of the wall throughout the pathway which leads to Hokitika beach are lined with different artwork from artists, I think once in a while new ones replace the current ones. This one is titled "Weta" by Karyn Roberts. I love these insects, I've seen some big and small ones over the years. They are harmless, non poisonous and do not hurt people but they can bite if you bother them.
Linking up with Monday Murals and Mosaic Monday.

Truly amazing
Karyn Roberts captures their quiet, ancient presence beautifully, turning an often-overlooked creature into a moment of wonder along the Hokitika Beach pathway.
A wonderful idea. The lovely weta is a great painting
What enormous insects those are. I had never heard of them before. Truly impressive.
...harmless, non poisonous and do not hurt people, is good enough for me!!!
What a nice idea! Cool bug!
We found the wildlife in New Zealand amazing. Seeing a Weta was very special. Photos here: https://maetravels.blogspot.com/2007/12/karori-wildlife-sanctuary.html
What a beautiful artwork. The much maligned weta is indeed a thing of beauty.
Lovely mural of a local bug. Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Amy.
I’d never heard of a weta before.
It’s great to learn it's harmless, and the artwork really brings out its character.
I had not heard of a weta before but that artwork is very nicely done.
Awesome art work, Weta is new to me.
Take care, enjoy your day! Have a wonderful week!
A really nice bug in other words :D
It looks pretty vicious to me. Glad we don't have them in Canada!
Great artwork, never heard before. Thank you for sharing at

I love it when they frame street art - it's the kooky unexpected formality #MuralMondays
We're just back from an amazing holiday in New Zealand - apart from some annoying mossies we didn't see many critters at all!
Lovely artwork here!
Have a great week
